HALFWAY HOME: A STUDY IN ARCHITECTURAL PROSTHETICS \ Unit 04
This final undergraduate project was an investigation of the role of decaying or abandoned parts of cities and how they can be ‘treated’. A criticism of new interventions, this sought to use medical processes in order to identify the parts of the site in Bristol in need of amputation and prosthesis. The resulting building programme is a narrowboat making workshop, Gongoozler’s rest pub for watching canal boats and a halfway home for injured servicepersons to train in the crafts of making relating to narrowboats.
